WHY are we here? Its a question that has taxed the minds of some of the worlds greatest thinkers... Plato, Descartes and, er, Cheryl Cole.

Well, with Cheryl it was more a case of taxing her patience.

The Girls Aloud star took it less than philosophically when she was repeatedly asked the question by a BBC interview team and walked out.

The singer, 28, agreed to chat to a BBC3 show backstage at an event, but got so fed up when she was repeatedly asked the philosophical question she left.

And the Beeb team werent far behind as the organisers kicked them out of the event after a complaint from Cheryls people.

A source tells me: Cheryl was happy to chat to the BBC, but it was a bit odd when they started asking her, Why are we here?

She took it to mean, Why are we at this event? So she said that she was here promoting her new single and performing.

"They repeated, Why are we here? At that point, it seemed like a dig at her for not being worthy of being on the same bill as The Wanted and Jessie J.

They repeated it again, this time saying, Why are we here on Earth?

"There was a slight pause, and then Cheryl walked off. It was obvious by then they were being daft.

In fact the interviewers were filming for a new BBC3 comedy prank show called The Revolution Will Be Televised, which will no doubt replay the whole altercation when it airs later this year.

The jokers were given a space bac! kstage a t Wembley Arena during the Capital FM Summertime Ball, where they managed to arrange interview time with Cheryl.

The source added: They were wearing badges with BBC written on them, so you wouldnt expect something like this to happen.

Guys, in case when you got outside you wondered, Why are we here? Its because you were rude to Chezza.
