Every star dreams of making that journey back to their hometown as a hero after having found success and fame.
Today, Cheryl Cole returned to her birth place, Newcastle, but decided to dress down for what should have been a rather grand occasion.
The 28-year-old dressed in a casual outfit to attend an album signing at HMV in her home town in northern England.

Whilst the former X Factor judge didn't look awful, she could definitely have made more effort for her fans, some of whom had camped out to see her.
The Fight For This Love singer turned up in a pair of faded jeans with a white vest and a jacket with blue circles, squares and triangles on.
She teamed the clothes with a simple two tone heel and a long pendant, with her much debated full looking hair down over her shoulders.

As well as stopping off at the music store to sign copies of new album A Million Lights, Cheryl also visited a school in the city for her charity, The Cheryl Cole Foundation.
She tweeted: 'SO to everyone i met today and thank you for all my gifts/early birthday presents ! You're so thoughtful and kind..' (sic)
Despite there not being a huge crush of fans trying to get in to see the Geordie-lass, some eager supporters camped out the night before.

Yesterday she was again signing albums at another HMV store in London, and she fielded several questions about the direction of her music.
Speaking to RWD TV, she said: 'It's definitely got an urban feel but there is loads of sounds on there, there's dub step on there, there is dance as you've heard with the Calvin Harris record. Even the will (will.i.am) song is dubby.
'I made a real conscious effort this time to record music that was mine and that people would identify me with.'
