Louis Walsh has revealed that this year's X Factor is the first series EVER that has seen a harmonious friendship between the two female judges.

The long-serving panellist insisted that Nicole Scherzinger and Tulisa Contostavlos are the show's first female mentors to enjoy a good relationship on and off camera.

His adamance reveals that, in addition to the well-known spats between Sharon Osbourne and Dannii Minogue as well as Tulisa and Kelly Rowland, there was tension between Minogue and Cheryl Cole as well.

Speaking to press including EntertainmentWise today, he said: "This is the first year we've ever done it that there's been no hassle between the girls. The girls are getting on incredibly well this year. No hassle, no friction. First time ever.

"In my nine years, [this is the] first time the girls have gotten on incredibly well off stage and on stage."

When a reporter asked him to clarify, he repeated: "EVER."

Asked about why Scherzinger is different to Rowland, Tulisa replied: "We just don't wanna compete with each-other."
