Olly Murs has seen his campaign to get a date with Cheryl Cole get a big name backing in the shape of his pop buddies JLS.

The 'Proud' boys have said that they think Olly and Cheryl would make a great couple just days after he asked her for her phone number on Twitter.

Earlier this week Olly Tweeted Cheryl, cheekily asking for her number.

"Haha sod it @CherylCole I'll ask for your number then #cantblameaguyfortrying #worthashot lol haha x" he said.

Speaking to the Daily Star about his pal, Aston Merrygold of JLS said: "Fair play to him for giving it a go with Cheryl. I'm rooting for him."

Unfortunately, Cheryl has yet to respond to Olly's ambitious Tweet.
