Cheryl Cole Sues Mag Over MC Harvey Story

Singer Cheryl Cole is suing Now magazine for libel over a story which claimed she was involved in a "secret romance" with rapper MC Harvey.

The 28-year-old has filed papers against publishers IPC Media at the High Court demanding aggravated damages over a story headlined: World Exclusive - So Solid's Harvey 'My Secret Romance with Cheryl'.

The story appeared on the front page and on three inside pages of the magazine on February 6, her claim states.

She is also suing over a later story headlined: Cheryl & Harvey: The Proof.

Cole has accused Now magazine's publishers of misusing private information about her in the stories and is also seeking an injunction to ban IPC media from repeating the allegations.

The former X Factor judge had denied the claims on Twitter which began a war of words between the two stars.

"Was this 'relationship' happening in your head?" she wrote to Harvey on the social networking site.

The rapper replied he would "rather go broke and work in Sainsbury's" than talk about Cole's personal life.
