Cheryl Cole's music career could be given a serious boost in the US if manager Will.I.Am has his way.

According to The Sun, the Black Eyed Peas man is hoping to persuade pop princess Britney Spears to collaborate with the Geordie lass - and he's already got a song lined up.

The paper claims that Will - who joined Britney for the judges' houses phase of The X Factor USA - is currently in talks with the Toxic singer about the duet.

A source told the tabloid: "There were rumours earlier this summer that the pair were going to duet but it wasn't until this week that Britney and Will had the discussion.

"He's been trying to get them together since before he came on board as Cheryl's manager."

The insider added: "He told Britney he was writing a great new track and wanted his 'two favourite girls' to record it together at his home studio."

Will's upcoming album is thought to feature his own collaboration with Britney but he was recently forced to delay the release after tracks were leaked online.
