They became good friends during the 2006 World Cup when they cheered on their footballer beaus and managed to keep themselves separate from the rest of the WAGS - but just four years later Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham were no longer pals.

This is, according to Cheryl, because Victoria didn't bother getting in touch with her when ex-husband Ashley Cole cheated on her.

But three years on, Victoria has reportedly got back in touch with the Girls Aloud star and wants to rekindle their friendship now that she has moved back to the UK.

Victoria's husband David left the LA Lakers and signed for French side Paris St Germain and the family have now relocated back to London.

And by way of trying to bury the hatchett with Cheryl, Victoria has reportedly invited her and her dancer boyfriend round for a meal.

"Posh has offered Cheryl an olive branch since moving back to London. She emailed inviting her and boyfriend Tre to dinner and Cheryl accepted," a source told the Star on Sunday.

"A lot of time has passed since they fell out and they both want to move on."

Cheryl, 29, and Victoria, 38, met in Baden Baden during the World Cup in Germany and were snapped together in the stadium and out for quiet meals while their fellow WAGS partied it up and created more headlines than the footballers!

But since they fell out after Ashley's cheating ways, both have taken it upon themselves to have the occasional dig at each other.

Cheryl said she would never wear Victoria's designs because her range was for "older women" while Victoria said Cheryl's shoe range for Stylist Pick was a "just a PR stunt".
