Girls Aloud close their Ten Tour tonight with what is heavily rumoured to be their last ever engagement as a group before splitting forever.

Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle have paid tribute to their fans on Twitter after having a great time on the road celebrating their ten years as one of pop's most prolific bands.

Chezza wrote: "Last show !!! When did that happen ??! It was just 5 minutes ago we were starting rehearsals! Feel like I've been in a time machine

"And now we're here !! One of my favourite places ever for the last show !! Liverpool!!! LETS GOOOOO..."

She added: "To the people that haven't been able to make it, for what ever reason, we feel your support regardless and have done for 10 yrs..

"To the people that have been to almost as many shows as we have lol let's make this a celebration of the past 10 years"

Nadine Coyle wrote on her own page: "I love you @GirlsAloud fans so so so so so much! You have given me everything! Thank you, thank you, thank you! All the hairflips... Twisted ankles, early mornings, late nights, sore throats, tears & facing height fears are all to try and give you the show you deserve!

"I have seen you many of you at the tour work as hard as us! That is why I cried last night on stage & probably tonight again. Not sad, happy tears. I cannot thank you enough. I love seeing all your faces.

"Ok more tears. I love you all forever. Xxxxx NC"

Although the ladies have not confirmed a permanent split, Cole wrote in her autobiography last year that she expected this tour to conclude the Girls Aloud saga.

Kimberley Walsh has maintained that, although they haven't specifically decided to split, no plans have been made for the group going forward.
