Cheryl Cole Gets The X Factor USA Court Date

Cheryl Cole's lawyers are set to attend court in the US next month to make their case for a jury hearing regarding her pay for The X Factor USA.

The Girls Aloud star was sacked at the start of the show's first series back in 2011 - and she has already been paid the 1.2m she had been promised for that season.

But now her representatives are arguing that she should get another 1.34m for the second series - plus 200k for her expenses, along with interest.

The show's production firm Blue Orbit has refused Chezza's demand and her legal team will be taking her case to the Superior Court of Los Angeles next month - where they will have to convince a judge it is worthy of going before a jury. The Mirror quoted a source as saying: "The gloves are really off in this one. If Cheryl had any illusions Blue Orbit were going to roll over and give in to her demands, they have been well and truly shattered.

"This is a risky game for the singer. The stakes are high, but she must feel she has a strong case."

We told you yesterday how Simon Cowell is reported to be considering offering Chezza her job on the show back.
