Cheryl Cole is reportedly being offered an impressive salary by Simon Cowell to make sure the Girls Aloud singer returns to X Factor USA.

Despite being axed from the first season, it looks like the media mogul wants Chezza back for good as he's increased her salary from the 1.1million she was originally offered.

Simon is even adding a multi-year part to the contract to increase the chances of her signing.

A source told The Mirror: "This is a massive move from Simon. Hes going right out there and saying that he made a mistake in sacking her."

They added: After she was shunted off the show, TV critics in the US said in reviews that she was the best thing about the programme and it seems for once that Simon was wrong."

To make sure Cheryl returns the source said: "Hes planning to put a massive contract on the table in the coming weeks, giving her the opportunity to return and prove him wrong once and for all.

It is unclear whether the Call My Name singer will take up the offer as Cheryl was not ha! ppy after her original dismissal from the show.

The source continued: "Its going to be tough sell for Simon after the humiliation she originally suffered, but if he plays it right, it could happen and it would be a viewers dream."

After losing Britney Spears and LA Reid from his judging panel it looks like Simon has more then enough space for our British singer.

But with viewing figures constantly falling, Simon is hoping Cheryl can help pull in the public again.
