The Sun, in an exclusive new story, are claiming that Cheryl Cole ne Tweedy will in future be known simply as Cheryl. Yes, like Madonna. And Bono. And Sting. And Beyonc.

The tabloid quotes a source as saying: Cheryl is beginning a new chapter in her life so she doesnt want to be associated with negative stuff from the past.

Shes not removing Cole legally, its just a career statement. Shes in a really good place at the moment She cant wait to start performing live again and her new stage name has given her comeback an extra bit of spice.

Cheryl had originally opted to keep her marital surname after splitting from ex Ashley Cole in 2010.
