10 reasons we love Cheryl Cole

From young Geordie lass to a leading style icon, Cheryl Cole really has become the nation's sweetheart. Here's 10 reason why I can't help but love her.

Transformation

The girl we saw appear for the first time on TV screens in 2002 auditioning for Popstars: The Rivals, is a far cry from the woman we see today. We have watched Cheryl Cole grow up in the media, witnessed the success of Girls Aloud, the breakdown of her marriage to premiership footballer, Ashley Cole, her strong influence on The X Factor and her battle with Malaria. Though Cheryl today always appears flawless and strong despite her set backs.

Style

Cheryl Cole has unarguably become a UK style icon having graced the covers of Vogue, ELLE and Harper's Bazaar. Her stint on The X Factor saw her promote new designers by simply choosing to wear their creations, though the star see's it quite differently; "I definitely don't put myself out there as a fashion icon. I just like how clothes make you feel as a woman. I like feeling dressed up and I like the fact that people enjoy what I wear, and that other girls want the same shoes as me or to wear their hair like mine." I certainly want a look into Cheryl's wardrobe and as for the hair....

Hair

There are plenty of women, not just myself, who really want hair like Cheryl Cole's, so much so that L'Oreal snapped up her up as the spokesmodel for their Elvive Full Restore 5 haircare range. Cheryl greatly boosted sales of the range when her adverts first appeared.

Makes mistakes

Cheryl isn't afraid to admit her mistakes and this is what makes her even more endearing. When it was claimed that her ex-husband had cheated on her, Cheryl followed her heart and stuck by her man. Though when her marriage ended not long after, Cheryl stated during her ITV interview with Piers Morgan; I just don't get boys, I don't really get men.'

Accent

The Geordie accent may not! be love d, or understood for that matter in America, but for us in the UK Cheryl just would be our Cheryl without the Geordie twang.

Always herself

Not even 'Mr Nasty' himself, Simon Cowell, could keep this one quiet on The X Factor Judging panel. Feisty Cheryl often told him to 'be quiet', 'shut up', and even blew a raspberry at him. This beauty knows how to put him in his place.

Shows emotion

Though strong and feisty, Cheryl Cole also isn't afraid to show emotion to the nation. Be it on The X Factor or during her interview with Piers Morgan, Cheryl never concealed how she was feeling. We saw the real woman under the celebrity limelight.

Strength

Cheryl Cole has had plenty of ups and downs though always maintains a positive outlook. Her Twitter accounts reads; 'I've learned sooo much from my mistakes.. I'm thinking of making some more.'

Straight Talking

Earlier this year when MC Harvey claimed through Twitter that he and Cheryl had once been in a relationship, straight talking Cher yl retaliated. "Was this "relationship" happening in your head @harveyofficial?!" MC Harvery tweeted back multiple times, though is still waiting on his response #moralhighground.

The Nations Sweetheart

How could you not love Cheryl Cole? The down to earth, humorous, strong willed woman she has grown into is respected and loved by the nation. Now it's time to crack America.
