Cheryl Cole is reportedly planning to release the first single from her third solo album in March.

The 'Promise This' singer is "putting the finishing touches" to the follow-up to her October 2010 release Messy Little Raindrops and, according to the Daily Star Sunday, believes that the upcoming LP is her best work yet.

"Cheryl's almost finished her third album and she's confident it's her best by far," a source told the publication. "She's just putting the finishing touches to it before a release date is scheduled. But the plan is to have a single out by spring, possibly as early as March.

"Cheryl is thrilled with the album. She felt she rushed her second album in order to get it released in time. But she's really taken her time for this one and feels so positive about the music."

Rumours circulated in October that Cole is considered a duet with Taio Cruz to serve as her next single. The pair were romantically linked as they worked together on the Girls Aloud singer's record.

Cole's new album - produced by will.i.am and Alex Da Kid - is tipped to! include collaborations with stars such as Rihanna, Eminem and Usher.

The former X Factor judge has not released a solo single since 'The Flood' in January 2011, which only reached a peak of 18 in the UK singles charts.
