Prince Charles has hired Cheryl Cole's 'right-hand woman' as one of his advisors.

The British royal has recruited Kristina Kyriacou after being impressed with her work representing the 'Call My Name' singer, and will now act as one of the royal's most senior advisors.

A source told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: 'It's a big move. His Royal Highness was frustrated that his charities, which do so much good work, were not getting the public attention that they deserve.'

Kristina has helped bring Cheryl's charity endeavours into the spotlight, accompanying her when she went to launch the Cheryl Cole Foundation - run in conjunction with The Prince's Trust - where they met Charles last year.

The source added: 'He was very impressed with Miss Kyriacou and the work that she has done for the Prince's Trust with Cheryl Cole. He's convinced that she is just the person he needs to take his charities forward.'

Kristina has previously managed Take That singer Gary Barlow - who was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queen's Birthday Honours this year - and is no stranger to charity, having spent four years as the head of media and public affairs at huge charity events Comic Relief and Sport Relief.

A spokesperson for Clarence House confirmed the appointment, saying: 'Kristina Kyriacou has been given the title of Assistant Communications Secretary, charities and marketing.

'In this capacity, she now covers all 16 of the Prince's charities and helps to proactively tell ! the stor y of these charities collectively and collaboratively.'

Kristina's new post will see her work for the Prince three days a week, while continuing to represent Cheryl.
