Simon Cowell wants Cheryl Cole to consider 'X Factor' return?

Cheryl Cole has been to visit Simon Cowell in Los Angeles, fuelling renewed speculation that the pair have been discussing The X Factor.

The Mirror claims that Cowell is keen to restore Cole to the panel of the ITV show, and reports that the Girls Aloud singer spent three and a half hours visiting his LA home following Wednesday evening's (November 28) broadcast of The X Factor USA.

However, a source close to Cowell played down the X Factor speculation, and said that the pair had just been catching up with one another.

"He's very fond of Cheryl," the insider explained. "They've met up a few times in the last 18 months.

"This could pave the way for conversations down the line about X Factor, but [their latest meeting] wasn't about that."

JLS vocalist Marvin Humes recently told Digital Spy that he thinks Cowell should return to the UK version of The X Factor, while his bandmate Aston Merrygold - a panelist on Sky1's Got To Dance - quipped that the music mogul is "[the] second-best judge in the world".

Cole returned to The X Factor this year as a guest, working alongside Gary Barlow during the Judges' Houses stage of the competition.
