Cheryl Cole 'so glad' to be out of New York after getting caught in Hurricane Sandy

Cheryl Cole has sent her prayers to victims of Hurricane Sandy

Cheryl Cole got a fright when she found herself caught up in Hurricane Sandy last week.

The singer was in New York when the storm hit and told her Twitter followers how relieved she was to finally be able to leave the city at the weekend.

'So glad to be out of NYC ! Hurricane Sandy was one of the strangest experiences of my life . We take so much for granted..,' Tweeted Cheryl, 29.

'My heart and prayers go out to everyone badly affected by the storm.. So Devastating.'

Cheryl's Girls Aloud band mate Nadine Coyle has also been sending her thoughts to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The Irish star is urging her Twitter fans to donate as much as they can to those who've been touched by the natural disaster.

'Watching hurricane sandy coming together! People are hurting. We can help a little at least,' Tweets Nadine! , 27.
