Cheryl Cole's new beau fails to impress her mum

Cheryl Cole's mother Joan Callaghan fears that the singer's new man, Tre Holloway, might leave her with a broken heart.

Callaghan met dancer Holloway, 27, at a party last month - where she told her friends that she was "wary" about his relationship with her 29-year-old daughter.

The 53-year-old mother also said that she was unhappy that the 'Call My Name' hitmaker had missed a recent family gathering with brother Garry because she was with Holloway.

"It's early days and she isn't 100 per cent sure of Tre yet," the Daily Mail quoted a friend as saying.

"He looks good on Cheryl's arm but Joan fears he will not be there for her long term," the friend said.

Cole, who divorced Chelsea ace Ashley in 2010, began dating Holloway in March, five months after they had danced together in her 'X Factor' performance of 'Promise This.'

He is the first person to be romantically linked to her, since US dancer Derek Hough, 27.

"Any man dating Cheryl should be aware they have to pass the vigorous test and standards set by Joan," the friend said.

"She sees herself as more of a protecting force than ever.

"As it stands Tre has a long way to go before he is accepted," the friend added. (ANI)
