60s Hair how-to video: Cheryl Cole and Lana Del Rey's bouffant look

Do things the celebrity hair way and style your strands with plenty of swinging 60s oomph this season with a brave bouffant. You can take this look to new heights, quite literally a la Cheryl Cole and Lana Del Rey, or if you prefer, play things down with less backcombing.

SHORT HAIRSTYLES

To help you create a bouffant in the safety of your bedroom we teamed up with vintage stylist Belinda Hay and the 60s-set film, Sparkle, to show you how in a few easy steps.

Our video will take you through each stage, but if you need a little help, the steps are also below:

1. Section your hair into two parts, take a section of hair from the temple to crown and clip out of the way.2. Tong the bottom section from midlength to ends and secure with pincurl clips.3. Tong the top section to create volume, wind your tongs right to the root this is how we get the volume for the bouffant, secure with pincurl clips.4. Brush out the curls and backcomb the top section, get as much volume as possible throughout the top to create your bouffant.5. Smooth over the front edge of the bouffant to hide the backcombing and there you have it!
