GEORDIE pop star Cheryl Cole is among the stars lined up for guest appearances on BBC1s The Voice as the show battles a ratings slide.

Cheryl is expected to be joined by Kylie Minogue to perform during editions of the talent show as it reaches its climax.

The addition of the two chart stars comes as the programme suffered a further audience blow for its results show on Sunday losing two million viewers in a week.

That came on the back of Saturdays edition of The Voice being beaten by Britains Got Talent for a second consecutive week.

Kylie and Cheryl are understood to be booked in for slots in the later stages of the contest over the coming weeks.

Britains Got Talent is riding high despite Simon Cowell feeling restless with ITV, according to his biographer.

Writing in the Radio Times about his new book on Cowell, Tom Bower said the 52-year-old was preparing for aggressive negotiations with ITV over the future of his shows.

His comments are published just days after it was reported that the X Factor and Britains Got Talent boss was in secret negotiations with rival channel BBC1 over a new drama.

Bower told the! Radio T imes: Cowell remains restless, not least about senior ITV executives who resent his influence over the network and publicity about his louche lifestyle.

With only one year to run on his ITV contract, he and ITVs chiefs are positioning themselves for aggressive negotiations over the networks most successful shows.

Their respective strengths in their battle will depend on Britains Got Talents ratings... and whether Cowell successfully reinvents X Factor for the autumn series or topples into decline.
