Cheryl Cole and Cher Lloyd are no longer friends
Cheryl Cole has admitted that it was like 'a slap in the face' when Cher Lloyd suggested she struggles to sing live.
The Girls Aloud star, who mentored the 18-year-old on The X Factor 2010, puts Cher's unkind words down to inexperience.
'She's new. She needs to learn a lot,' says Cheryl, 28.
'I went through hell to get her on that programme.
'Everyone says stuff at the beginning of their career that they will learn to regret.'
Cheryl adored Cher during the show and was criticised for choosing to put her through to the live finals.
She originally responded to Cher's 'Auto-Tune' dig via Twitter, stating that '#unappreciationisugly', which prompted an apology from the young singer.
And a few months on, the Geordie star admits she still feels let down by her former mini-me.
'It's disappointing because I fought for her,' Cheryl tells GQ.
'Maybe I didn't teach her as well as I thought I had.'
