Cheryl Cole is renting a house from ex-husband Ashley's friend Jermaine Jenas.

The '3 Words' hitmaker - who divorced the footballer in 2010 following claims he cheated - is reportedly in the process of leasing Spurs player Jermaine's 5million home in north London.

Cheryl plans to rent the property - which she visited socially whilst still married - for a six-month period and is expected to pay in the region on 3,000 a week.

A source told The Sun newspaper: 'Cheryl is getting organised for an extremely busy couple of years ahead.

'She has a chart campaign starting soon with a single and new album as well as the big Girls Aloud reunion tour also on the way.

'She wants to have solid foundations in place before the madness kicks off again next month.'

Another change Cheryl wants to make is to her name. The 28-year-old former 'X Factor' judge apparently wants to drop her last name and simply be known as 'Cheryl'.

An insider said: 'Cheryl is beginning a new chapter in her life so she doesn't want to be associated with negative stuff from the past.

'She's not removing Cole legally, it's just a career statement. She's in a really good place at the moment and wants to take life by the balls.

'She can't wait to start performing live again and her new stage name has given her comeback an extra bit of spice.'
