During an interview on Radio 1 this morning, Chris Moyles brought up Cowell's recent tweet praising Cole's new single, and asked whether the two are friends.

She responded: "Yes. Well, frenemies."
Asked whether that had always been the case, she said: "Yeah. Nothing's changed there."
Cole remained cagey about the specifics of her relationship with Cowell following her exit from The X Factor USA, hinting only that they had shared some "extremely interesting" conversations.
Moyles suggested that her being axed from the show after only two auditions was "really weird", to which she murmured: "Agreed."
She continued: "If you're asking have I spoken to him since, many times. If you're asking were they interesting conversations, absolutely.
"There's been a lot of rubbish written about what happened."
Cole also didn't rule out working with Cowell again when asked.
"I've not thought about it," she said. "I haven't had time, I've been recording an album!"
