Cheryl Cole gets in the festive mood as she tweets cosy photo in a Christmas jumper

After a disastrous 2011, it's safe to say 2012 has fortunately been a dramatically better year for Cheryl Cole.

So with just five nights until Christmas, the Girls Aloud singer is clearly in a festive - and slightly tipsy - mood.

The 29-year-old tweeted a photo of herself looking cosy in a woolly jumper as she wrote on her excitement about the festive season.

Standing holding a lily, Cheryl teased her fans that she was talking about her personal assistant Lily England.

Posting a photo on her Whosay.com account, Cheryl wrote: 'Me, my Christmas jumper and my Lily hahaha !!!! #5sleeps.'

She then teased her 3.2million Twitter followers, admitting she had been drinking mulled wine.

She added: 'Haha I bet you all thought it was @Lily_England didn't you ??? I'm sooo funny !!! Hahaha #YouLittleMugs LOL at myself #TooMuchMulledWine.'

Earlier this week, the Girls Aloud star tweeted two other photos of her in her festive jumper collection.

On Sunday, she p! osed in a deer-print Stella McCartney jumper, and on Monday, a white jumper with 'ho! ho! ho!' written across it in red print.

Fans of Cheryl know how good 2012 has been for her following a horrific 2011.

Last year, she was dumped from The X Factor USA and ended a reported reconciliation with ex-husband Ashley Cole after he was linked to a string of other women.

Meanwhile, 2012 has seen her find love with American dancer Tre Hollyway, enjoy her third No.1 single with Call My Name and get back together with her Girls Aloud bandmates for their 10th anniversary.
