Girl group set to return...

Cheryl Cole has posted a picture of a mini Girls Aloud reunion on Twitter.

The image shows four of the girl group's members – Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – posing in a mirror with their camera phones.

The only member of the five-piece absent is Nadine Coyle, who is in America.

On Twitter, Cole kept details about their meet-up secret, and only wrote the message: “Love my girlies", while the photo had the title: "Girls night in...”.

It comes after Harding confirms at London Fashion Week the long-standing rumours that Girls Aloud are set to reunite in 2012 to mark their 10th anniversary.

“We don’t know exactly what we’ll do yet, that’s what we’re trying to figure out,” she told the Daily Mirror. “We’ll do what we’re good at, and hopefully get some more No1s!”

Harding added: “We reminisce a lot when we’re together – we talk about being on tour. It’s been a while, and I’m getting itchy feet.”

There had been reports linking Girls Aloud to a performance at the London Olympics next summer.

Cheryl Cole Can't Return To The X Factor

Any hopes of Cheryl Cole ever returning to the X Factor have been dashed following the reports that Simon Cowell has told the star that she can't return to her role as a judge on the show.

It is thought that the media mogul told Cheryl that she's lost her place on the panel for the time being, after getting upset hearing reports that he was going to sack new judge Tulisa and give Cheryl her own job back.

With no plans to bring Cheryl back on the show, a source revealed to the Mirror: “Simon thinks all the judges have done an absolutely amazing job this year. He loves Kelly and Tulisa and there is zero chance of either of them losing their place next year.

“Cheryl became the nation’s sweetheart… but the past few weeks have proved there is a lot of talent just as capable. Now Simon has decided it would be a backward step to reinstate her.

“He gets annoyed if anyone suggests Kelly Rowland or Tulisa may have to make way for her to return. That is categorically not going to happen.”

Cole’s life in danger after Afghan visit

Cheryl Cole has reportedly become a prime target for “jihadis” after visiting British troops in Afghanistan. The 28-year-old singer, was warned by UK-based radicals that she could now be legitimately targeted by “jihadis”, fighting a worldwide holy war against the West and her life is at risk, reported Daily Star.

Cole donned army fatigues during a visit to troops at Camp Bastion in Helmand province, which marked ten years of war against the Taliban.

“I always had admiration for what the guys do out here but seeing them here at work is awe-inspiring. I’m delighted to be here to recognise all the hard work they do. Every one of them is a hero in my book,” Cole said.
